So once again we have the build up to New Year’s eve and what our plans were to be.
Last year went a bit awry, and call me superstitious but we did have a few hiccups along the way, so we really wanted this year to be a bit of a reprive.
Sadly it did not get off to the best of starts. You know when your gut feeling is saying “not a good idea!” but you kind of have to go with what is being planned? Well that was how our new year’s eve started. I won’t name names, or rather places, as that would just be churlish. But I will say that our choice of venue was just faaar too pretentious for a group of diving instructors who just wanted to party and welcome the New Year in with a bang. Not saying we don’t scrub up well, far from it, but this night is one of those nights where the atmosphere is sooo important. And whilst it was important for us all to be together with our friends, we also needed a few other people in the venue to add a little buzz, and the wine to be a little less pricey. There is no easier way to ruin a good party than by making your punters feel like they have been well and truly ripped off. Anyway, less of the negative, the evening was rescued by our departure from the “morgue” to a more down to earth bar where we ended up dancing on the speakers and getting well and truly…@*/+@£#ed! So all in all, by the end of the night, a great time was had by all.
