A Sharm Wedding!

Well, after many weeks’ planning, and more than a few sleepless nights… it actually all came together!!! And this I can say was the best day of my life!
Thankfully due to the heat, we hadn’t planned to do anything before 6pm, which gave us plenty of time to decorate our little home, as we decided to hold the ceremony in our rather special back garden, special because it opens out onto the cliff top that some of you will recognise as Ras Katy with a view of the sea and the Ras Mohammed National Park beyond. With the sun low in the sky, it really did turn out to be quite a spectacular view, more so than normal.
Everyone had turned up, with around 40 coming from the UK and another 40 or more of our local friends. We had Barry White playing whilst everyone arrived and then my brothers played Led Zeppelin’s “The Rain Song” on accoustic guitars as my Dad walked me down a natural “aisle” that runs the length of our garden. Surrounded by so many friends and family I very nearly lost it, but managed not to be a “bawler” as they say in Wedding Crashers and even held it together for the vows.
We had a Celebrant Tina over from the Uk to perform the ceremony for us (although as you know we had already had the fun bit in Cairo doing all the legal stuff) and she was absolutely perfect. It wasn’t long before we were exchanging rings as the sun set over the pink mountains and the champagne began to flow.
The party then moved to the famous (or could it be infamous) Terrazzina beach restaurant, where our lovely Disco Dave played our favourite music for more wine dance and song. What am amazing night.
